How the Slack integration works
You can add the “Send Slack Message” action to any journey. Configure the shape with your desired channel and message using any contact variable. Autopilot fully supports Slack’s styling like bolding text, adding emojis or outputting image links.

Send a team notification and follow up email the instant a new user signs up using the Slack integration.
How Slack Works
Here’s an example: a new user signs up for your product and fills out a form question where we ask “what problem are you trying to solve?” This sends an event (“setAGoal”) to Segment, which in turn triggers an Autopilot journey.
Autopilot sends an internal message to the team’s Slack channel, so that the team can now view new user challenges as they happen. In response, onboarding teams can work proactively and cross-functionally (e.g. sales, success, and product) to collaborate on next steps.
